I can always count on you for bright, optimistic writing. 😉
Sounds like more science fiction come to life. We're just not sure the ending yet. The Project Stargate sounds like a TV series. 🙂 (or a continuation of one)
Hopefully, better minds guide the AI revolution that's here. Of course, with everything else going on, AI may get lost in the shuffle or moved to a back burner.
Definitely difficult to predict. There's always the chance AI ends up ruling humanity too.
I like the idea of UBI regardless of AI.
Going to be interesting to see where this part of society goes and how it's handled. Your checklist towards the end seems like a good start.
Thanks for an interesting piece of writing Michael.
We're already too late, the Genie is out of the bottle, and the capitalist oligarchs have already seen their dreams come true - a way to permanently put the majority of us into the "not them" class. Call it technofeudalism, call it modern aristocracy, call it whatever you want, they see this as the way they win the game. Once having human workers is irrelevant, all of us become beholden to their "benevolence" and whims. Idiocracy is the sugar-coated version of it, so is Ready Player One. Look more to the "gritty" and "grimdark" dystopias like Battle Angel Alita, Blade Runner, and Cyberpunk to see where we're really headed - a time where the haves, have so much they're completely untouchable, and us have-nots will be scraping the trash thrown down from their ivory towers, hoping there's enough to survive.
The only way out is a massive global realignment away from capitalism, to a system where equity and equality are built in. Where the concepts of profit and scarcity are completely eliminated. I'm not optimistic on that happening within my lifetime.
I couldn't last thru Ted Cruz' introduction speech. I cannot stand his gaslighting, or even the sound of his voice (same with Cheetolini). I found the last video conversation very intriguing, although I'm inclined to the dark vision of the elderly gentleman. The gentleman in the red jacket seems to espouse the Silicon Valley ideology of Curtis Yarvin which I find anathema.

Always here to balance your optimism, Jerry! 😂

Goodbye, good luck and thanks for all the fish!
another homosexual gone horribly wrong
What’s that supposed to mean?
right or wrong, i expect an enlightened person in a bigoted world to not fall in to the greed race, damn the fallout
Well, particularly in the USA, enlightenment has almost always had a price tag attached to it.
